EXCHANGE OF NOTES BETWEEN THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES AND SWITZERLAND FOR ABOLITION OF DIPLOMATIC AND OFFICIAL VISAS. MANILA AND MAKATI, OCTOBER 19, 1973.

Excellency:

I have the honor to refer to the Embassy's note No. 92/73 dated 28 August 1973, and to confirm the following understandings on the abolition of visa requirements for the classes of passports mentioned below:

1. Holders of valid diplomatic, special, and service passports of Switzerland shall be free to enter the Philippines without the need of obtaining a visa.

2. Holders of valid diplomatic and official passports of the Philippines shall be free to enter Switzerland without the need of obtaining a visa.

3. The foregoing waiver of visa requirements does not exempt Swiss citizens entering the Philippines, and citizens of the Philippines entering Switzerland, from the necessity of complying with the laws and regulations in the host country concerning the taking of employment or the exercise of any profession with or without compensation.

4. Each Party may temporarily suspend this agreement for reasons of public order. Such suspension shall be immediately notified to the other Party.

5. Each Party may denounce this agreement by notifying the other Party in writing. The denunciation shall take effect at the end of three (3) months from the date of the receipt of the notification.

6. This Agreement shall enter into force on 16 November 1973.

I have the honor to propose that this note and Your Excellency's reply concurring therein, shall constitute an agreement between our two Governments.

Accept, Excellency, the renewed assurances of my highest consideration.

I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated October 19, 1973, reading as follows:

I am pleased to confirm that I agree with the terms of this communication, which, together with the present reply, constitutes an agreement between our two Governments.
