DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE
Manila, 30 May 1969
Excellency:
In addition to the agreements we have today reached on a wide range of subjects, my Government has taken note of the following additional subjects we discussed:
1. The prospect of Philippine entities purchasing Indonesian corn and cattle. On our part, we will contact the proper parties in the Philippines who may be interested in such trade possibilities and endeavor to remove any barriers that may now restrict such trade.
2. Your panel's invitation to consider possible joint ventures within your Investment Law in the area of integrated cattle and poultry industry in view of the abundance of corn supply as a basic feed ingredient in Indonesia and the presence in the Philippines of capable entrepreneurs and managers in these industries s& well as of quality breeds of livestocks. Again, we propose to contact the proper parties in the Philippines and endeavor to remove any barriers to such joint ventures.
We have taken note of your agreement to take up these matters again if a more definite interest is evinced by the proper Philippine and Indonesian entities.
Accept, Excellency, the renewed assurances of my highest consideration.
