[ PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1926, May 30, 1984 ]

AMENDING REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5921 (AS AMENDED) SO AS TO REDUCE THE LENGTH OF THE PHARMACY COURSE

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 5921 (as amended by PresidentialDecree No. 1363) requires completion of a pharmacy course of not less than five(5) years in order to qualify as candidate for the Board examination inPharmacy;

WHEREAS, the Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, the Boardof Pharmacy and the Philippine Pharmaceutical Association have taken theposition that is desirable to integrate overlapping courses and delateunnecessary subject matter from the existing pharmacy curriculum, thus reducingthe pharmacy course from five (5) to four (4) years without sacrificingeducational standards;

NOW, THEREFORE I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of thePhilippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do herebyamend Republic Act No. 5921 (as amended) by deleting paragraph D and replacingparagraph C as follows:

"c. He shall have graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacyor with an equivalent degree from a school, college or university aftersatisfactorily completing a standard pharmacy course of not less than four (4)academic years."

This Decree shall be immediately effective.

Done in the City of Manila, this 30th day of May, in the year of Our Lord,nineteen hundred and eighty four.
