[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5353, June 15, 1968 ]
AN ACT STANDARDIZING SALARIES OF CERTAIN OFFICIALS OF THE CITY OF MANILA AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
Be it enacted by the Senate, and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:SECTION 1. The provisions of the Revised Charter of the City of Manila, as amended, to the contrary notwithstanding the following officials of the City of Manila shall receive the annual compensation as fixed hereunder:

Vice-Mayor | 30,000.00 |
Twenty Councilors | 26,000.00 each |
City Engineer | 24,000.00 |
City Treasurer | 24,000.00 |
City Assessor | 24,000.00 |
City Health Officer | 24,000.00 |
City Auditor | 24,000.00 |
City Public Service Officer | 24,000.00 |
Chief, Manila Fire Department | 24,000.00 |
Superintendent of City Schoolsincluding the National share of P7,200 | 24,000.00 |
Chairman, Veterinary Inspection Board | 24,000.00 |
Social Welfare Officer | 24,000.00 |
Secretary to the Mayor | 24,000.00 |

SEC. 2. The officials herein above mentioned shall receive commutable representation allowance to be determined by the Municipal Board and as approved by the Mayor.SEC. 3. The incumbent officials holding the positions affected by this Act shall receive the salary increases upon the effectivity thereof without the necessity of new appointments.SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.Approved, June 15, 1968.
