[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5165, June 17, 1967 ]
AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE STANDARDIZATION OF SALARIES OF OFFICIALS IN THE BUREAU OF PUBLIC WORKS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:SECTION 1. Any existing law to the contrary notwithstanding, salaries for the following positions in the Bureau of Public Works are hereby fixed as follows:(a)Director, at eighteen thousand pesos per annum;(b)Assistant Director, at sixteen thousand eight hundred pesos per annum;(c)Chiefs of specialized technical or engineering divisions and regional supervisors, at fifteen thousand six hundred pesos each per annum; and assistant chiefs of the above specialized divisions in the central office, and district engineers III, at fourteen thousand four hundred pesos each per annum;(d)Chiefs of other divisions in the central office, at twelve thousand pesos eachper annum;(e)Chiefs of branches under the specialized technical or engineering divisions in the central office including district engineers II and flood control district engineers, at twelve thousand pesos each per annum;(f) Assistant chiefs of branches under the specialized technical divisions in the central office, assistant division chiefs of other divisions and district engineersĀ and public works incharge in city engineering offices, at ten thousand two hundred pesos each per annum.The allocation of the abovementioned positions shall be adjusted to the WAPCO ranges corresponding to the amounts herein provided.SEC. 2. Such sums as are necessary to implement this Act during the fiscal year ending June thirty, nineteen hundred sixty-seven are hereby appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated. Thereafter, the sums necessary for the purpose shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.SEC. 3. The incumbents of the positions whose salaries are herein standardized shall automatically be entitled to the benefits hereof without the need of extending another appointment.SEC. 4. All Acts, executive orders, administrative orders, proclamation, rules and regulations, or parts thereof, inconsistent with this Act are repealed or amended accordingly.SEC. 5. This Act shall take effect on July first, nineteen hundred sixty-six.Enacted without Executive approval, June 17, 1967.
