[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 3899, June 18, 1964 ]

AN ACT AMENDING REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED NINETEEN HUNDRED TWENTY-EIGHT BY FIX­ING THE COMPENSATION OF THE OFFICIALS OF THE CITY OF MANILA.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:SECTION 1. Section one of Republic Act Numbered Nineteen hundred and twentyeight is amended to read as follows:"SECTION 1. The provisions of the Revised Charter of the City of Manila, as amended, to the contrary notwithstanding, officials of the city shall receive the following annual compensation:

Mayor P20,000.00
Vice-Mayor 18,000.00
Secretary to the Mayor 16,000.00
Secretary to the Board 14,000.00
Two assistant Secretaries to the Mayyor, each at P14,000.00 28,000.00
Twenty Councilors, each at P14,000.00 280,000.00
City Engineer 16,000.00
Assistant City Engineer 14,000.00
Chief of Police 16,000.00
Deputy Chief of Police 14,000.00
Chief, Detective Bureau 14,000.00
Chief, Fire Department 16,000.00
Deputy Chief, Fire Department 14,000.00
City Treasurer 16,000.00
Assistant City Treasurer 14,000.00
City Assessor 16,000.00
Assistant City Assessor 14,000.00
Assistant City Health Officer 14,000.00
City Health Officer 16,000.00
Superintendent of City Schools including the National share of P7,200 per annum 16,000.00
Two Assistant Superintendent of City Schools, each at P14,000.00 28,000.00
City Auditor 16,000.00
Assistant City Auditor 14,000.00
City Public Service Officer 16,000.00
Assistant City Public Service Officer 14,000.00

SEC.  2. The incumbent officials holding the positions affected by this Act shall receive the salary increases upon the effectivity thereof without the necessity of a new appointment.SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.Approved, June  18, 1964.
