[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 228, June 05, 1948 ]
AN ACT AMENDING SECTION ONE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED AND NINETY-TWO OF THE REVISED ADMINISTRATIVE CODE REGARDING DATA AND DOCUMENTS TO BE SUPPLIED TO THE BUREAU OF PUBLIC LIBRARIES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:SECTION 1. Section one thousand six hundred and ninety-two of the Revised Administrative Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 1692. Data and documents to be supplied to Bureau of Public Libraries.—The various Departments, Bureaus, Offices, and branches of the government, including the provinces and municipalities, shall furnish without charge to the Director of Public Libraries all data or information that may be required in the performance of the functions of said institutions and it shall be obligatory on the part of the government office or agency ordering the printing of any publication to deliver to the Bureau of Public Libraries at least two hundred copies of all printed reports or documents of any kind published at the instance of said government office or agency."The printing establishments of the country shall also be obliged to send without charge to the Bureau of Public libraries at least two copies of each book, newspaper, pamphlet printed or published by them, except in case the registration of copyrights, in which the provisions of the law shall be complied with."
SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.Approved, June 5, 1948.
