[ Commonwealth Act No. 172, November 12, 1936 ]
AN ACT AUTHORIZING DEFENDERS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND ANY AGENT OF THE BUREAU OF LABOR THEREUNTO ESPECIALLY DEPUTED BY THE SECRETARY OF LABOR, THE UNDERSECRETARY OF DIRECTOR OF LABOR, TO ADMINISTER OATHS, ISSUE SUBPOENAS AND TAKE TESTIMONY.
Be it enacted by the National Assembly of the Philippines:SECTION 1. Public defenders of the Deparment of Labor and any agent of the Bureau of Labor thereunto especially deputed by the Secretary of Labor, the Undersecretary, or the Director of Labor, shall have authority to administer oaths, issue subpoenas, and take testimony in connection with any case coming within the scope of their official function.SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.Approval, November 12, 1936.
