AN ACT TO AMEND ARTICLE THIRTEEN HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-SEVEN OF THE CIVIL CODE, EMPOWERING MARRIED WOMEN, OF AGE, TO DISPOSE FREELY OF THEIR PARAPHERNAL PROPERTY, WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF THE HUSBAND.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:SECTION 1. Article thirteen hundred and eighty-seven of the Civil Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"ART. 1387. The married woman, of age, may alienate, encumber or mortgage or otherwise dispose of her paraphernal property, and appear in court to litigate with regard to the same, without necessity of the permission or presence of the husband."
SEC. 2. All acts or parts of acts inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed.SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its approval.Approved, September 12, 1932.
