AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION ELEVEN HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-ONE OF ACT NUMBERED TWENTY-SEVEN HUNDRED AND ELEVEN, KNOWN AS THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, AS AMENDED BY ACT NUMBERED THIRTY-FOUR HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-EIGHT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:SECTION 1. Section eleven hundred and eighty-one of Act Numbered Twenty-seven hundred and eleven, known as the Administrative Code, as amended by Act Numbered Thirty-four hundred and seventy-eight, is hereby further amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 1181. Inspection certificate.—Upon the inspection of any vessel as aforesaid, a certificate of inspection shall be issued, if the inspected vessel shall be found to conform with the requirements applicable to it: Provided, That Philippine vessels arriving from foreign countries with unexpired certificates of inspection issued by examiners of Lloyd's Bureau Veritas, American Bureau of Shipping, British Corporation, United States Steamboat Inspection Service, and vised by a United States consul, vice-consul, or consular agent in the performance of his official duties in the country or place where issued, shall likewise be entitled to have an inspection certificate issued to them. Said vessels shall not be subjected to any inspection other than that required to convince the local inspectors that the condition of the vessel, its boilers and life-saving equipment are as stated in the current certificate of inspection. A vessel inspected and certified in this manner or in the manner prescribed in the preceding section shall be permitted to operate for the length of time stated in the certificate, under the conditions imposed by the collector of customs of the district, with the approval of the Insular Collector."
SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect on its approval.Approved, November 21, 1930.
