AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION FORTY-ONE OF ACT NUMBERED TWENTY- EIGHT HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-FOUR, KNOWN AS THE PUBLIC LAND ACT
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Legislature assembled and by' the authority of the same:SECTION 1. Section forty-one of Act Numbered Twenty- eight hundred and seventy-four is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 41. Any native of the Philippine Islands who is not the owner of more than twenty-four hectares, and who since July fourth, nineteen hundred and seven, or prior thereto, has continuously occupied and cultivated, either by himself or through his predecessors in interest, a tract or tracts of agricultural public land subject to disposition, shall be entitled under the provisions of this chapter, to have a free patent issued to him for a tract or tracts of such land not to exceed twenty-four hectares in all."
SEC. 2. When this Act shall have been approved by the President of the United States, as provided in section nine of the Act of Congress of August twenty-ninth, nineteen hundred and sixteen, such fact shall be made known by proclamation of the Governor-General of the Philippine Islands, and this Act shall take effect on the date of such proclamation.[1]Approved, May 6, 1924.[1] Declared in force by Proclamation No. 16 (1924).
