AN ACT AMENDING SUBSECTION (A) OF SECTION THREE OF ACT NUMBERED FOURTEEN HUNDRED AND SEVEN BY REORGANIZING THE STAFF OF THE EXECUTIVE BUREAU, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

By authority of the  United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Legislature, that:SECTION 1. Subsection (a) of section three of Act Numbered Fourteen hundred and seven is hereby amended to read as follows:

"SEC. 3 (a). The Executive Bureau shall have one chief and two assistant chiefs who shall be appointed by the Governor-General, by and with the consent of the Philippine Commission, and who shall be known respectively as the Executive Secretary, the Secretary to the Governor-General and the Second Assistant Executive Secretary. The Executive Secretary shall perform such duties as shall be required of him by law. The Secretary to the Governor-General shall perform the duties heretofore required by law to be performed by the Assistant Executive Secretary and in addition, such duties as may be assigned to him, and shall perform the duties of the Executive Secretary during the absence or disability of the latter. The Second secretary,  Executive Secretary shall perform the duties of the Executive Secretary during the absence or disability of the latter and of the Secretary to the Governor-General and such other duties as shall be required of him by the Executive Secretary. The salaries of the personnel provided for by this subsection shall be as prescribed by the Philippine Legislature: Provided, however, That the present incumbents of the aforesaid offices shall receive the salaries they are at present receiving until the Legislature acts in the matter."

SEC. 2. The positions of Private Secretary to the Governor-General and Secretary to the Governor-General as heretofore provided for by law or purported to be created by executive action are hereby abolished.SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its passage.Enacted, November 4, 1913.
