PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1926

AMENDING REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5921 (AS AMENDED) SO AS TO
REDUCE THE LENGTH OF THE PHARMACY COURSE

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 5921 (as amended by Presidential Decree No. 1363) requires completion of a pharmacy course of not less than five (5) years in order to qualify as candidate for the Board examination in Pharmacy;

WHEREAS, the Philippine Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, the Board of Pharmacy and the Philippine Pharmaceutical Association have taken the position that it is desirable to integrate overlapping courses and delete unnecessary subject matter from the existing pharmacy curriculum, thus reducing the pharmacy course from five (5) to four (4) years without sacrificing educational standards;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby amend Republic Act No. 5921 (as amended) by deleting paragraph D and replacing paragraph C as follows:

“c. He shall have graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or with an equivalent degree from a school, college or university after satisfactorily completing a standard pharmacy course of not less than four (4) academic years.”

This Decree shall be immediately effective.

Done in the City of Manila, this 30th day of May in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and eighty-four.

(Sgd.) FERDINAND E. MARCOS
