MANILA
PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1673
TO REVISE TARIFF HEADING 76.04 OF THE TARIFF AND CUSTOMS CODE OF 1978
AND TO MODIFY THE RATE OF DUTY ON IMPORTED ALUMINUM FOIL PROVIDED UNDER
PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1628
WHEREAS, there is an increasing importation of aluminum foil products even if they are locally available;
WHEREAS, for the purpose of conserving foreign exchange and to encourage continued local production of some aluminum foil products, the reduction in tariff of said products shall be limited to those which will reduce the price of inputs in the food processing industry.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby decree and order as follows:
SECTION 1. Tariff Heading 76.04 of the Tariff and Customs Code of 1978 is hereby revised to read as follows:
Aluminum foil (whether or not embossed, cut to shape, perforated, coated, printed or backed with paper or other reinforcing material), of a thickness (excluding any backing) not exceeding 0.20 millimeter:

SECTION 2. Repealing Clause. — Any and all acts, statutes, decrees, rules, regulations or parts thereof inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.
SECTION 3. This Decree shall take effect immediately.
