PROCLAMATION NO. 892

DECLARING MONDAY, AUGUST 30, 1971, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF BULACAN.

WHEREAS, Marcelo H. del Pilar, our hero and patriot who used the nom de plume of “Plaridel” in his struggles in Spain to obtain reforms for the Philippines during the Spanish regime, was born in Bulacan, Bulacan, on August 30, 1850; and

WHEREAS, the people of Bulacan should be given full opportunity to celebrate Plaridel’s birthday with fitting ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare Monday, August 30, 1971, as a special public holiday in the province of Bulacan.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 24th day of August, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-one.
