BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES

PROCLAMATION NO. 2055

DECLARING WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 1981, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN IRIGA CITY.

WHEREAS, the yearly celebration of the Tinagba Festival; in Iriga City, falls on February 11, 1981;

WHEREAS, the Tinagba Festival is a revival of the age old tradition to make an offer of its first harvest to the Almighty for the continued blessings and of bountiful harvest throughout the year; and

WHEREAS, the people of that city should be given full opportunity to celebrate this age old tradition;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare February 11, 1981, as a special public holiday in Iriga City, but the day will be a regular working and school day.

Done in the City of Manila, this 9th day of February, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and eighty-one.
