PROCLAMATION NO. 184
DECLARING WEDNESDAY, MARCH 22, 1967, AS “PHILIPPINE ARMY DAY” AND “GENERAL EMILIO AGUINALDO DAY” AND AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCES OF RIZAL, BULACAN, PAMPANGA, NUEVA ECIJA, TARLAC, LAGUNA, CAVITE AND BATANGAS AND IN THE CITIES OF MANILA, QUEZON, PASAY, CALOOCAN, ANGELES, CABANATUAN, PALAYAN, SAN PABLO, CAVITE, TAGAYTAY, TRECE MARTIRES AND LIPA.
WHEREAS, Wednesday, March 22, 1967, marks the birthday of General Emilio Aguinaldo, President of the First Philippine Republic; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting to honor on that day not only the illustrious General but also the unsung heroes who rose in revolt in the eight provinces which spearheaded the fight for Philippine emancipation from Spain;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Wednesday, March 22, 1967, as “Philippine Army Day” and “General Emilio Aguinaldo Day”, and as a special public holiday in the provinces of Rizal, Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Laguna, Cavite and Batangas, and in the cities of Manila, Quezon, Pasay, Caloocan, Cabanatuan, Angeles, Palayan, San Pablo, Cavite, Tagaytay, Trece Martires and Lipa, to give the residents thereof opportunity to celebrate the memorable event with appropriate ceremonies.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
Done in the City of Manila, this 19th day of March, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and sixty-seven.
