FULL TITLE : AN ACT PROMOTING FOSTER CARE FOR ABANDONED, NEGLECTED AND OTHER CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS, PROVIDING APPROPRIATIONS THEREFOR AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES | |
ABSTRACT : "Foster Care Act of 2003." The following may benefit from foster care: (1) A person below eighteen (18) years of age or any persons whose chronological age may be more than eighteen (18) years old but is suffering from mental retardation; (2) A child who is either abandoned, neglected or orphaned; (3) A child in need of special protection; and (4) A child matched for adoption. > any Filipino citizen of legal age, kin, relatives or guardian of the foster child in possession of full civil capacity and legal rights, of good moral character, has not been convicted of any crime involving moral turpitude, emotionally and psychologically capable of caring children, at least twenty (20) years older than the foster child and who is in a position too support and care for his children and the foster child may be allowed to foster for the above-mentioned child.
