| ABSTRACT : "Philippine Oceans Act of 2000". In line with the State's policy to protect the nation's maritime wealth in its archipelagic waters and territorial seas, the bill seeks to institutionalize a maritime and oceans policy. It proposes the adoption of a five-year oceans development agenda covering these programs; a) Philippine oceans information system; b) coastal community capability enhancement of the oceans; c) ocean law and administration reforms; d) environmentally sustainable marine resource management; e) archipelagic development planning program; and f) oceans diplomacy |
