SHORT TITLE : Medical Practitioners Protection Act of 2004
ABSTRACT : "Medical Practitioners Protection Act of 2004". It is the practice in many hospitals to withhold the payment of professional fees of medical practitioners pending full settlement of patient's hospital bills. This bill seeks to extend protection to medical practitioners by instituting a mechanism that will ensure fair and equitable terms for the release of professional fees of medical practitioners withheld by hospitals or medical clinics because of the failure of a patient to pay his hospital bills.
