ABSTRACT : Sections 193 and 234 of the Local Government Code (LGC) effectively withdrew the tax exemption benefits enjoyed by electric cooperatives. The withdrawal of the incentive caused electric cooperatives to suffer heavy financial losses. This bill seeks to exempt electric cooperatives from the payment of real property taxes and other fees imposed by the local government units. It seeks to include all electric cooperatives organized under PD 269, as amended, and registered with the National Electrification Administration, within the coverage of tax exemption privileges and incentives granted under the LGC.

Abstract
