ABSTRACT : Delays in the purchase of medicines and other medical supplies and equipment among local hospitals have resulted in the inefficient delivery of health services. Under the present procedure, vouchers for any purchase have to be signed and approved by concerned local chief executives. This bill seeks to allow heads of departments and chiefs of hospitals to approve the purchase of medicines and other medical supplies necessary for the delivery of basic health services.

Abstract

Delays in the purchase of medicines and other medical supplies and equipment among local hospitals have resulted in the inefficient delivery of health services. Under the present procedure, vouchers for any purchase have to be signed and approved by concerned local chief executives.
