| ABSTRACT : The Local Government Code provides for a system whereby disputes among family members and members of the barangay can be settled amicably at the barangay level, through the Lupong Tagapamayapa (Lupon), without judicial recourse. The system promoted the speedy administration of justice and helped to relieve the courts of docket congestion. To give recognition to the efforts and time exerted by members of the Lupon so that peace and order would reign in the barangay, the bill seeks to grant every member of the Lupon a monthly honorarium of PhP 1,000.00. | |

Abstract
The Local Government Code provides for a system whereby disputes among family members and members of the barangay can be settled amicably at the barangay level, through the Lupong Tagapamayapa (Lupon), without judicial recourse. The system promoted the speedy administration of justice and helped to relieve the courts of docket congestion. To give recognition to the efforts and time exerted by members of the Lupon so that peace and order would reign in the barangay, the bill seeks to grant every member of the Lupon a monthly honorarium of PhP 1,000.00.'
