FULL TITLE : AN ACT GRANTING EXEMPTION TO THE MEMBERS OF THE JUDICIARY, INCLUDING THE CHIEF JUSTICE AND ASSOCIATE JUSTICES OF THE SUPREME COURT, AND THEIR PERSONNEL FROM THE COVERAGE OF REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6758, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE SALARY STANDARDIZATION LAW |
ABSTRACT : The Judiciary holds extraordinary functions characterized by impartial assessment of the facts, understanding of the laws, untained by improper influence from any source and unswayed by partisan interest, public opinion or fear of criticism. Yet despite the "extraordinarin ess" of their role compounded by the heavy loan of cases filed before them, the compensation accorded to them is not commensurate with the jurisdiction has been expanded without the corresponding increase in their salary dueto the passage of Republic Act No. 7691. This results in several vacancies in the Metropolitan Trial Court, Municipal Circuit Trial Court, etc. |
