FULL TITLE : AN ACT PROHIBITING THE APPOINTMENT OF ELECTIVE GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS WITHIN ONE YEAR FROM RESIGNATION |
ABSTRACT : The bill seeks to prohibit the appointment of resigned elective government officials to posts in the government until after the lapse of one year from the resignation of the official concerned. This would deter elective officials from accepting offers to assume another position caused by vacancies or resignations of certain officials. Elected officials who assume vacancies in other posts in the government, in effect, abandon the mandate of the people who elected them. |
