SHORT TITLE : Fair Competition Law of the Philippines
ABSTRACT : "Fair Competition Law of the Philippines." This bill aims to level the business playing field by strengthening the legal and institutional framework that would combat unfair trade practices. Among the key features of the measure include: a) the creation of a Fair Trade Commission that shall investigate, gather evidence and initiate prosecution of those engaged in unfair trade practices; b) the description of monopoly power or market abuse; and c) the imposition of defined sanctions to key officials of companies that violate fair competition.
