FULL TITLE : AN ACT INSTITUTING A CONGRESSIONAL MEDAL OF HONOR AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
SHORT TITLE : Instituting a Congressional Medal of Honor
ABSTRACT : This bill establishes a Congressional Medal of Honor to recognize members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) who, whether in times of peace or of war have, through their heroic and selfless deeds, distinguished themselves above and beyond the call of duty. Aside from a Medal, this recognition will also involve the promotion of the soldier or police officer to the next higher rank, and shall include the grant of P100,000.00 to the awardee or to his or her next-of-kin.
