The country's existing criminal laws do not adopt the terms of reference of the International Humanitarian Law and International Criminal Law. The bill seeks to empower the special courts in the country to try cases involving grave crimes such as genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, grave breaches of specific United Nations Conventions and other crimes against international humanitarian law. |
