ABSTRACT : Section 67 of the Omnibus Election Code is deemed unfair in its treatment of candidates as it exempts candidates for the positions of President and Vice President from resigning from the public office they are currently holding. The bill seeks to do declare all elective officials running for any office other than one he is holding in a permanent capacity as ipso facto resigned from his office upon filing of the certificate of candidacy. |
