FULL TITLE : AN ACT TO PROMOTE AND ENHANCE PUBLIC SAFETY BY PROHIBITING CRANK CALLS TO ALL EMERGENCY HOTLINES AND PROVIDING PENALTY THEREFOR AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
SHORT TITLE : Anti-Crank Calls Act
ABSTRACT : "Anti-Crank Calls Act." Intended to protect existing emergency hotlines from illegitimate calls, the bill imposes a fine of PhP5,000.00; imprisonment of 6 months and severance of of the caller's telephone line and/or blockage of his mobile line for all crank, sex, and unnecessary calls and other forms of illegitimate calls. In case a crank caller uses a pay phone, the punishment shall be one year imprisonment.
